BG Remover is an offline AI background remover for Windows, macOS (beta) and Linux, built by RealBrain — a small, independent software company founded in 2022. The idea is simple: professional image tools shouldn't require uploading your photos to someone else's server.

Why offline?

Every mainstream background remover — remove.bg, PhotoRoom, Canva, Adobe Express — processes your images in the cloud. That means client portraits, unreleased products and confidential work leave your machine, and you pay per image for the privilege. BG Remover runs the same class of AI models (ONNX segmentation networks in the U²-Net family) directly on your hardware via ONNX Runtime, with CUDA and DirectML GPU acceleration. Nothing is uploaded. Batch size is unlimited. Once your license is activated, the app works with the network cable unplugged.

Who builds it

BG Remover is developed by Sharif, RealBrain's founder. Being a solo developer cuts both ways, and we're honest about it: the Windows build ships through the verified Microsoft Store, while the direct installer isn't yet code-signed (a signing certificate is planned). The upside: you talk directly to the person who wrote the code — [email protected] or the Discord community.
